Terms of business

Payment

Payment must accompany your order. Cheques and postal orders should be made out to ‘M.J. Lister’ and should be crossed ‘A/C Payee’. Limit cheques are the favoured way of payment- leave amount blank and write NOT TO EXCEED £...(Your order value) at the bottom of the cheque.

Minimum order

There is no minimum order value.

Dispatch of orders

Orders will be dispatched as soon as possible after being received. This is dependant on plant availability and weather conditions. We would prefer not to send plants in mid winter and mid summer for the health of the plant! Dispatch dates to be avoided should be clearly marked (holidays etc)

Please make sure that if there is no one at the delivery address during the day there are clear instructions as to where a parcel should be left.

Complaints/losses

If, for whatever reason, you are not satisfied with the plants when they arrive, please let us know straight away, and we shall do all that we can to rectify matters. Please remember that some plants will show little or no sign of life whilst dormant following autumn dispatch and during the winter months. As we endeavour to send out only healthy plants we are not necessarily able to replace plants which fail after receipt by the customer, as such occurrences, though rare, are usually due to circumstances over which we have no control.

Packing and postal charges

We use a 48 hour delivery service which is quite expensive but reliable. Wherever possible we try to keep the cost to a minimum by using recycled materials and of course we make sure that the plants are well packed and protected. Some postcodes in the UK and delivery in Europe will involve higher rates governed by weight.

Packing and postal charges are to be found at the bottom of the order form

P&P for overseas orders

We are happy to receive orders from European Union countries but not further a field at present. Postage charges will be governed by weight and it may be necessary to send certain plants open rooted to reduce costs. The plants will of course be well packed and protected. p&p charges will vary with individual orders.

Validity

This information supersedes all previous updates and is valid until replaced or amended. Changes in the price of individual plants may vary, if circumstances so dictate, and this, and the introduction and deletion of various varieties, will require the issue of update lists at regular intervals. All plants are offered subject to availability. The placing of an order will be understood to imply the acceptance of these terms.
